The sheep keeper
A
man leaning against a rock is caught in the moment he turns his eyes upwards. He is the keeper of the flock, a figure inspired by Greek-Roman statuary. To whom does it direct its eyes? An angel appeared before him, which we do not see except through his gaze, we can feel his presence.
In the nativity scene tradition, the flock of sheep symbolizes the people, on which the figure of the keeper stands, who in his young and strong physicality represents the metaphor of the keeper of humanity.
